Many yards in the San Gabriel Valley have non-native plants that grow densely with large leaves that provide resting places for mosquitoes. You most likely have mosquitoes if you have a lot of plants provide cool, shady areas.

Ditch the density by scaling back the thickness of bushes, hedges, ivy, and other vegetation as these are mosquito magnets. Remove any bromeliads, if possible.

California Native Plants are beneficial as they are beautiful. They bring bright colors to your home that thrive in our natural Californian climate. These native plants also require less water (meaning more money in your pocket). This will limit mosquito-breeding around your home.

Most importantly, California Native plants will reduce the amount of micro-climates (aka. dense vegetation) that mosquitoes adore.
