Citizen Science Programs

  • This month, we had nursing students from Western University help out our water analysis team to identify mosquito larvae and pupae.

  • This month, enhanced mosquito surveillance was conducted in addition to routine surveillance.
  • Aedes mosquitoes, also known as ankle biters, are still active. Currently, these black-and-white striped mosquitoes are considered nuisance biters and are not spreading any diseases locally.
  • Residents can stay updated with mosquito-borne disease activity in the San Gabriel Valley through our District's press releases.
